How to Make Genuine Artificial Chevys Garlic Mashed Potatoes

What is any meal without mashed taters? Any meal without mashed potatoes is lacking!

To be fair, after I make these, I tend to cover them with a mix of five different cheeses grated up and mixed together, and then bake that just long enough to melt the cheese and brown it just a little. However, since that is not part of the original recipe, I did not include that in the instructions.

  • Preheat the oven to 400° degrees Fahrenheit

  • Clean the potatoes leaving the skin in place. Coat them with the vegetable oil and bake them for approximately one hour or until they are tender.

NOTE: Sesame Oil or Olive Oil will both give the potatoes a unique taste, both of which are good in my opinion, though this is again not part of the original recipe ... I love to experiment though!

  • Allow the Potatoes to cool to the point you can handle them safely

  • Remove the skin from the potatoes and grind it into as fine as possible, keeping this separate from the “meat” of the potatoes

  • Using a manual potato masher, mash the potatoes in a large bowl

  • Melt the butter over medium heat, adding in the minced garlic as soon as the butter is melted. (Do not fry the garlic in the butter)

  • Add the garlic butter and other ingredients into the bowl, mixing them well. Heat either in the oven or in a pan over the stove and serve hot
