Invisibility is the key for the survival of the prepper

Some people who decide to create a homestead completely off the grid want to live in complete harmony with nature, while others may be the proverbial paranoid prepper, but remember that once again, the main issue of concern living off the grid should be finding that common ground. In both of these cases, there is a very good likelihood that they will want their homestead to blend in as seamlessly as possible with the surrounding environment.

For some it is merely a matter of beauty and aesthetics, for others it is a desire not to intervene with nature any more than necessary, and for some it is merely a matter of not being seen quite so easily, but the end result is that all of these individual homesteaders have much the same desire.

Do preppers present an existential threat to society?

According to the National Defense Authorization Act or NDAA, reports commissioned by the past two presidential administrations (at the time of this writing) and numerous local, county, state and federal law enforcement agencies, the average American Prepper presents a clear and present danger to society. Apparently, the desire to merely remain free and to be left alone indicates a major security concern for some unknown reason. All of the political jargon aside though, it is an interesting enough subject to merit looking at, and for any of the readers who may in fact be law enforcement agents, your comments, feedback, thoughts, views and opinions are always appreciated. Does the average American Prepper present any threat to “Civilized Society”?

A great many preppers are CCW permit holders … Concealed Carry Weapons Permit Holders … which can mean only one thing, though some people see it differently:

Four Letter Words

“IT’S NOT FAIR!” A lot of people talk about “fair” like it really is something tangible and attainable. To some degree it probably is but not to the point where there is some kind of guarantee that human nature will ever make room for “fair” somewhere in the results category. “Fair” is often somehow or another confused with “Just” (as in Justice) as if the twain were synonyms or even dependent on one another for their very existence. Is there really anything even remotely resembling “social justice”, “economic justice” and the like or do all of these concepts boil down to little more than a four letter word that starts with F when everything is said and done and reality rears its ugly head?

Evil Corporations and Greed

The evils of greedy corporations and greedy executives and other corporate officers fill the press on a regular basis. Talk about how these corporations are somehow or another taking wealth away from the working class and the poor without ever giving any clarification of how such an impossible feat is supposedly being accomplished. Is it true though? When one gains wealth, does it really prevent someone else from gaining wealth? Where are the specifics for exactly how much is enough and how much wealth must be “redistributed” in order to make things “fair”?

Surely there are plenty of think tanks and other institutions of academia hidden away in an Ivory Tower somewhere to figure out such an important detail in such a frivolous scheme … or at the end of the day, is it really all nothing more than a scheme designed to divide the people and create social instability through class warfare? Or is it possible perhaps, that just maybe, those who create wealth deserve to keep the wealth that they can create while at the same time, a more equitable system of distribution is not only available, but kept hidden from the masses in order to retain the ability by the proverbial powers that be to provoke social unrest and thus, strengthen their hold over the masses?

When everything is said and done, how evil are those corporations and how criminal are those greedy people?

If you are living your life to the fullest, you probably do not worry much about getting off the grid or getting out of the cities and building up a stash. Some of us are a bit worried however, given the state of the global economy, the last four hundred years or so of history and the situation of the world in general. For those of us that are a bit concerned, many of us are making an effort to get off the grid, get out of the danger zones and prepare to take care of our families in better times and ... for JustIn ... Just In case you know??? ... and in case the times get tougher. As part of your life off the grid or even just as sound economical advice, you may have heard of investing in precious metals. As a general rule, this is actually a very good idea ... though perhaps not in the way you are thinking.

Democrat Socialists of America

The latest and greatest flavor of Socialism designed to lead us down the same old road to a dictatorial dystopian democrat dream decorated with freshly updated memes and slogans is commonly referred to as “Democratic Socialism”. Just like the Russian citizenry in 1917 and the Chinese after World War Two and the Cambodians during the Vietnam conflict, we are again being assured that “it is different this time” and absolutely none of those other efforts were “real socialism”

So what exactly is “real” socialism and how is it any different than the morass that has cost us over one hundred million human lives in the single deadliest century in recorded history? How can politicians prove to the plebes that this time it really will be different? Do you think these politicians are willing to put their monies where their mouths are, or even where they want to put your money and mine? Read on to find out more!

When it comes to living off the grid, MREs, beans, rice, canned goods and other foods that will last a long time definitely have a place in the cellar … and in the pantry … and in pretty much any other space you have for storing dry goods. Still, the average person is going to want at least the occasional piece of meat from time to time and if you are one of the ones that always has fresh meat, even in the event of a major economic collapse, you could do quite well for yourself … and make some pretty good money as well … or at least some of whatever is being used as common currency at the time.

Chickens, pigs and fish all have some things in common which may or may not surprise the average person. Perhaps one of the most important things to realize is that they can all be raised indoors. This may or may not appeal to you personally but there are many instances when and reasons why this could very well be important. If there actually were a complete economic collapse, how long do you think it is going to be before all of those people from the city … those that are left anyhow, come out to the country looking for food?

There is an old saying that in the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is King. There was also a guy a long place ago and in a time far away who reminded us daily that while we knew a little bit, soon we would know “the rest of the story”. In the case of the one-eyed man in the land of the blind, he may indeed be the proverbial king, but he could very well just be another madman. In accordance with simple logic, it would seem reasonable that the man with partial sight would be capable of outperforming and improving upon virtually everything that was done by those who were completely without sight … but life is never quite so simple as that is it?

This article contains a good deal of allegory (though some would argue hyperbole) and apologue (though the animals in this case are human in nature) for which I do most humbly apologize. However, one very prevalent issue when dealing with unprecedented proposals is the lack of any precedent to utilize for making valid points. It is imperative that a new paradigm be introduced if this world is to be made a better place for all humanity, but merely stepping outside of the proverbial boundaries … or outside of the proverbial box, is not going to be readily accepted, much less allowed and certainly never encouraged.

If you do not believe me, you need look no further than the many amazing innovations that have been buried under the guise of “national security” or for other equally vague and obscure reasons. You need look no further than the trials and tribulations of people like Michael Reynolds also known as the Garbage Warrior. Even here however, while he was successful to some degree, his ideas, no matter how sound, have yet to receive any widespread audience, much less official recognition or praise … and certainly have not been allowed to expand to the point where they would be beneficial in contributing to the environment or to society as a whole.
